Thyroid Health
Natural therapies to assist you in finding balance.

- Drink, bathe, and cook with filtered water.

- Coconut oil (1-3 tablespoons per day of pure virgin coconut oil).
- Avoid fluoride (tap-water, and fluoridated toothpaste) and chlorine. Chlorine, fluorine, and iodine are chemically related. Chlorine and fluorine block iodine receptors in the thyroid gland, resulting in reduced iodine-containing hormone production and (potentially) in hypo-thyroidism. In some studies, dis-ease of the thyroid has been linked to fluoridate water.
- Daily exercise (aerobic). Movement helps the thyroid to balance.
- Yoga, stretching, and deep breathing.
- Chanting and singing. (Language as light)
- Laughter
- Learning to ’speak your truth’
- Meditation
- Wearing a blue scarf
- Fresh vegetable juices (add in some radishes for increased healing)
- Various green superfoods-chlorella, blue-green algaes, kelp, sea vegetables, wheatgrass
- Zinc, Vitamin E (Mixed tocopherol), Vitamin A, (from plant sources), Vitamin C, B-Vitamins (complex), magnesium, Essential Fatty Acids (Hemp oil is a good source).
- Bodywork: Lymph massage-drainage for head and neck; Reflexology-whole foot with a focus on the thyroid area below the big toe on the bottom of the foot; Acupuncture; massage; Rolfing.
- Eliminate/limit stress-stress aggravates thyroid conditions and in many cases is a part of the cause of the condition.
- Decrease or eliminate dairy intake. If you eat dairy it must be organic and preferably raw. Do not eat dairy containing carcinogenic hormones, antibiotics, etc.
- Swim in the ocean or other source of fresh water.
- Daily sunshine (through the eyes). Spend 20 minutes per day outdoors without sunglasses to assist the pineal gland in bringing balance to the hormones.
- Nourish the adrenals, liver, endocrine system, & nervous system with appropriate herbs and essential oils. These vary depending on the type of thyroid imbalance you are dealing with.
- Liver cleansing drinks
- Castor oils packs for Liver. Liver nourishing foods include: burdock, milk thistle, dandelion, and nettles.
- Proper function of the eliminatory systems (bowels, skin, breath, kidneys)
- Bath in relaxing herbs such as Lavender or Rose petals.
- Deep sleep. Studies have shown that the two hours before midnight are essential for the health of the hormones. Develop a regular healthy sleeping pattern by going to bed by 10 pm.
- Nourishing foot-baths will help your entire body relax. Be creative! You can also use different hydrotherapies for excellent results.
- Eat at least one green salad each day as well as steamed greens like Kale, collards, mustard greens, bok choy, etc.
