Define your paradigm for healing!
Ladies and gentle-men…love yourselves!!!

Nourish your inner world and heal your body, mind, and heart. Let your sacred spirit soar in this divine incarnation…the first steps to well-being are to trust your intuition and deeply listen…

Intuition: Trust your inner wisdom. You are co-creating your life. Make your decisions from your highest self and make friends with your innate beauty. Re-connect with your innate divine nature. Enjoy your blessings and completely engage in your life.

The breasts are deeply connected with our ability to receive nourishment. For many, they are the first source of food from the mother…how precious…for all of us (men and women) they are intimately connected to our lymphatic/immune system. This system is connected to our emotional body and the water element…our flow…drop deeply into your life….flow with your breath and live fully in the eternal present moment.

The following natural tools are helpful in the health of the breast tissue.
Nourish through organic foods and herbs:

Oils: Hemp, Borage, Black currant, or Evening Primrose oil added to diet (especially in cases of hormonal imbalance) helps to protect the breast tissue by providing the body with Omegas 3, 6, and 9. Do NOT cook any of these oils.
*Dandelion oil (Taraxacum officinale) has a special affinity for breast tissue. Regular use of this beautiful oil facilitates the release of held emotions. Strengthens immune system and emotional bodies. This superb ally can be used during self massage on an on-going basis. (Clears impacted milk glands and reduces cysts).
Seaweeds (eaten as snacks or added to herbal formulas): wakame, kelp, kombu.
Greens etc. (antioxidants, Chlorophyll, folic acid, vitamins, amino acids):Watercress, broccoli, wheat-grass, parsley, celery, raw spinach, lamb’s quarter, kale, collard greens, amaranth, spirulina. Blue-green algaes, spirulina.
Earth foods (connect with earth energy and natural sweetness): parsnips, turnips, squash, cabbage, pumpkins, burdock, licorice root (stabilizes blood sugar), sweet potatoes (grounding), carrots, corn, garlic and onions (selenium and antioxidants), beets(builds blood), brown rice, lentils, pineapple, apples, citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruit), watermelon (purifies), figs, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, Miso, (raw goats milk) yogurt, pure sunlight.

Thyroid in balance

July 27th, 2008 by tarah

Thyroid Health
Natural therapies to assist you in finding balance.

- Drink, bathe, and cook with filtered water.
- Avoid fluoride (tap-water, and fluoridated toothpaste) and chlorine. Chlorine, fluorine, and iodine are chemically related. Chlorine and fluorine block iodine receptors in the thyroid gland, resulting in reduced iodine-containing hormone production and (potentially) in hypo-thyroidism. In some studies, dis-ease of the thyroid has been linked to fluoridate water.
- Daily exercise (aerobic). Movement helps the thyroid to balance.
- Yoga, stretching, and deep breathing.
- Chanting and singing. (Language as light)
- Laughter
- Learning to ’speak your truth’
- Meditation
- Wearing a blue scarf
- Fresh vegetable juices (add in some radishes for increased healing)
- Various green superfoods-chlorella, blue-green algaes, kelp, sea vegetables, wheatgrass
- Zinc, Vitamin E (Mixed tocopherol), Vitamin A, (from plant sources), Vitamin C, B-Vitamins (complex), magnesium, Essential Fatty Acids (Hemp oil is a good source).
- Bodywork: Lymph massage-drainage for head and neck; Reflexology-whole foot with a focus on the thyroid area below the big toe on the bottom of the foot; Acupuncture; massage; Rolfing.
- Eliminate/limit stress-stress aggravates thyroid conditions and in many cases is a part of the cause of the condition.
- Decrease or eliminate dairy intake. If you eat dairy it must be organic and preferably raw. Do not eat dairy containing carcinogenic hormones, antibiotics, etc.
- Swim in the ocean or other source of fresh water.
- Daily sunshine (through the eyes). Spend 20 minutes per day outdoors without sunglasses to assist the pineal gland in bringing balance to the hormones.
- Nourish the adrenals, liver, endocrine system, & nervous system with appropriate herbs and essential oils. These vary depending on the type of thyroid imbalance you are dealing with.
- Liver cleansing drinks
- Castor oils packs for Liver. Liver nourishing foods include: burdock, milk thistle, dandelion, and nettles.
- Proper function of the eliminatory systems (bowels, skin, breath, kidneys)
- Bath in relaxing herbs such as Lavender or Rose petals.
- Deep sleep. Studies have shown that the two hours before midnight are essential for the health of the hormones. Develop a regular healthy sleeping pattern by going to bed by 10 pm.
- Nourishing foot-baths will help your entire body relax. Be creative! You can also use different hydrotherapies for excellent results.
- Eat at least one green salad each day as well as steamed greens like Kale, collards, mustard greens, bok choy, etc.

Eucalyptus - herb of purification

July 22nd, 2008 by tarah

It is said that the Eucalyptus tree is one of the most useful trees in the world. Belonging to the Myrtacae family (the same family as Tea tree), the name Eucalyptus means ‘well-covered’ which refers to the little cap that covers the flower before budding. A tall, water-loving tree, Eucalyptus is one of the fastest growing trees in the world, reaching heights of between 300- 480 feet. Growing in damp marshy areas on moist land and clays Eucalyptus is often found in hilly country or moist valleys in deep rich soils.

Native of Australia, where it was regarded as a general ‘cure-all’ by the Aborigines, there are over 300 species and 700 varieties of Eucalyptus. The trees have been used for everything from paper, to mulch, shade, fuel, hardwoods, wind breaking and malaria fighting. Its extensive root system absorbs vast amounts of water. It is due to this phenomenon that it has been intentionally planted in marshy, malaria infested areas in an attempt to dry up and purify the soil and air. The German botanist and explorer, Baron Ferdinand Von Muller suggested that the fragrance of the trees might prove antiseptic. It was in 1855 that the French government sent seeds to Algeria and consequently many of the disease ridden areas were converted to healthy dry ones. Eucalyptus oil was in huge demand during World War 1, as it was used to control a meningitis outbreak and for the influenza of 1919. Today the major eucalyptus producing countries include China, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, and Chile.

peace through mindfulness

July 21st, 2008 by tarah

love is all there is…The critical mass of enlightenment can be defined as the smallest number of awakened human beings whose collective influence can initiate a significant shift in global consciousness. The process of creating enough enlightened ones to achieve this critical mass can be likened to the transformation of coal into diamonds. The pressure of surrounding human unconsciousness creates urgency in the potential enlightened one to awaken from illusion. The total weight of so much unconscious ‘carbon’ exerts a tremendous pressure, through which a few coal stones reach the appropriate mass to become ‘diamonds.’ These awakened beings embody the crystal clarity of enlightened consciousness which can transform the level of consciousness of the entire planet.” (Anonymous)

As both an individual and collective, we have the ability to shift and transform the suffering in this world to beauty and joy. One method of ‘ether medicine’ that can relieve suffering on both a personal and global level is meditation. I believe that mankind is capable of evolving together on this spiritual journey through the love and support of one’s self in conjunction with one’s community – also known as Sangha or kula. The ability to achieve the deepest connection with the Divine is always present, but fear and bewilderment often prevents our remembering the light that radiates in all of us. Through meditation, one can observe this fear, acknowledge, and transcend it. Furthermore, there exists a theory of ‘mass consciousness’ and ‘critical mass’: once some minimum number of beings have awakened, the rest will be swept up in the changing tide of awakening and authentic liberation. Are we nearing this turning point in human evolution? More and more frequently we are asking the questions, “Who am I?”; “What is this all about?”; “How can I contribute?”; “How can I liberate myself and others from suffering?” I believe that it is through the various forms of meditation that we can answer these questions and, more importantly, heal ourselves and possibly heal mankind in the process.

High vibration flower essences

July 13th, 2008 by tarah

Tuberose
Making your own flower essences

In order to make your own personal high vibration flower essence remedy you’ll need to gather the following tools: a clear medium size glass bowl; a glass funnel; a strainer; tweezers; sharp scissors or (you may prefer) a crystal; fresh water; a notebook or journal; colored pens or pencils; a four ounce cobalt blue glass bottle; 2 ounces of organic brandy, apple cider vinegar, or vegetable glycerin; and your camera and an open heart.

In addition to the necessary equipment you’ll want to bring a gift to offer in gratitude to the flowers. Some beautiful suggestions include Indian tobacco (Lobelia), Sage, cornmeal, a prayer, a poem, a song, a crystal or a personal offering of your choice. You are cultivating a relationship with the flowers so the gift is one from your heart and will be well received if it a genuine offering.

The next step is to identify the flowers that you would like to make into a personal flower essence. The plants should be growing in a natural setting or cultivated organically; away from traffic; and should be growing abundantly.

You may enjoy spending some time in prayer or mediation with the plants prior to harvesting the flowers. Ground yourself and enjoy the progression of developing this relationship. Remember to ask permission of the plants to harvest the flowers and please do not take the grandmother (the largest and oldest) flowers. It is helpful to ask the flowers for s ‘sign’ and then of course, to stay open to recognizing when your sign appears. After sitting with the plant in meditation and when you feel the timing is appropriate begin by making your offering. This is a precious opportunity to commune with the plant.

living energy

What is Raw???

Raw is cuisine in its real form: organic, from the earth and uncooked. For food to be considered RAW it can be chopped, blended, pureed, juiced, dehydrated, or combined into infinite flavor combinations, but whatever the end result, all RAW recipes are vegan (totally vegetarian: no meat, fish, eggs, or dairy) and “living”. Ingredients grown from the earth are naturally and aren’t harmful to the body; basically, they’re about as raw as you can get. Animal products, on the other hand, carry parasites and bacteria and are injected with hormones, antibiotics, and steroids. Organically raised animal products are out too, because they are just too difficult for the human body to digest and do not fall under the second requirement, which is RAW cuisine is also “living” foods. Living foods are fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, roots, and seeds-virtually everything edible that grows from the earth that has not been cooked.” (Juliano, RAW The UNCook Book, p. IIX)

A raw/living foods diet is ‘exactly that’: raw and living foods. This means no cooking, no grilling, no application of heat of any kind. A raw foods diet is predominately raw vegan. The foods may be dehydrated, fermented, or frozen, but they are never heated over 100-108 degrees (f). This keeps the enzymes and nutrients intact. If one were to plant and water these foods (in their whole form) in the soil, many of them would sprout.

Raw foods have more nutrients and fiber than cooked foods do. Enzymes in raw foods are active (not having been deactivated through applying heat) and therefore they are more supportive to the health of the body. Raw foods take an average of (only) 24-36 hours to digest. Cooked foods take between 48-100 hours for digestion. Cooked foods lose their enzymes, which begin to be destroyed at 116 degrees (f).

Choose The Right Chocolate for the Best Health Benefits

July 2nd, 2008 by ecech

We’ll all cherish the day we learned chocolate was good for us. Maybe a few naysayers still remain skeptical, but study after study is proclaiming the health benefits, both mental and physical, of chocolate. Even the Life Extension Foundation includes chocolate extract in their flagship vitamin formulas. Many folks are switching from their daily dose of coffee to a cup of hot chocolate. It’s an antidepressant, an antioxidant, its full of vitamins and minerals, it improves sex drive, AND it tastes good. Really good. So what is the best way to get the health benefits? Is it as simple as eating cases of your childhood favorite chocolates? As you might have thought, there are considerations when indulging in chocolate as a regular part of your diet. But it can be done! Let’s see how…

Like so many things in our modern world, its the processing of chocolate that makes all the difference. This isn’t just the New Age Hippy types saying this either (as one, the author feels comfortable making this statement). The scientists measuring all the chemicals in our food, telling us which bits are good and which are bad are saying it to. It’s RAW, minimally-processed chocolate that’s the miracle food. Un-roasted, un-cooked plain old powdered chocolate, better known as ‘Cacao’, is far superior in every way for your health. It’s called a ’superfood’ by many, as it’s list of super-good for you super-nutrients is extensive. Note that ‘organic’ does not mean ‘raw’. Even the premium organic hot-chocolate powders found in the high-end health food stores is still roasted and usually processed with alkali (called ‘Dutch Processing’, making it easier to dissolve in water, and destroying most of the antioxidants at the same time). This means that 99% of the chocolate products on the shelves are NOT the superfood you wished they were, but it also points the direction to how to include chocolate in your life on an exceptionally health daily basis. We’ll get to some recipes in a moment, but first a few points to help you remember why raw chocolate is where it’s at.
